A short walk to freedom: becoming a critical learner

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This workshop looks at how and why we learn. How can we equip our students with critical thinking skills? Make them motivated and autonomous? A succession of practical activities and critical reflections on underpinning theories will result in pedagogical solutions that can be implemented in any classroom context with minimal resourcing.

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Look at how learners can become engaged and challenged
- Reflect on ways to deduce meaning, question existing beliefs and test hypotheses
- Try activities that increase communicative competence and build class cohesion
