Giving Students’ agency over their learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Student agency refers to learning through activities that are meaningful and relevant to learners, driven by their interests, and often self-initiated with appropriate guidance from teachers. To put it simply, student agency gives students voice and often, choice, in how they learn.
In this workshop, we will experience few strategies that promote autonomy in learners, and thus when learners take agency in what they are learning, they become more interested in what they are doing

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- Plan and implement activities that promote autonomy within learners
- Enhance the idea that future learners should be responsible for their own learning
- Emphasise the role of a teacher as a “facilitator” a “coach” and a “guide” in the learning process.
